LINCWorks participants recognized for CNA+ course completion

Eighteen LINCWorks participants were recognized at a Dec. 5, 2013, ceremony for their achievement in completing a Certified Nursing Assistant Plus (CNA+) course.

The 8-12 week course, which was developed in partnership between LINCWorks and Metropolitan Community Colleges (MCC)-Institute for Workforce Innovation, provides LINCWorks participants opportunities to obtain skills and credentials to help them enter the workforce.

At the ceremony, held at Penn Valley Community College, Dominga Levin of MCC-Institute for Workforce Innovation presented certificates to the class. MCC-Penn Valley President Dr. Joe Seabrooks was the guest speaker. Friends and families of the graduates also delivered remarks in support of the graduates.

LINCWorks case managers and management staff also attended. LINCWorks is the LINC initiative to assist Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants in moving from welfare to work. The Mo. Department of Social Services-Family Support Division is a major partner in the effort.

LINCWorks and MCC-Institute for Workforce Innovation will be offering the 23rd career certification/GED class in February 2014.
