Conversation on race at Centennial UMC, Oct. 1
Centennial United Methodist Church will host "Holding Down Your Corner: A Guided Conversation on Race" this Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Centennial UMC is located at 1834 Woodland Ave. in the Historic 18th and Vine Jazz Heritage District.
This program is a collaboration between Centennial UMC and Church of the Resurrection Downtown.
For several months, the two churches have sponsored a series on Race and Literature.
The Oct. 1 program will be led by Rev. F. Willis Johnson, pastor of Wellspring UMC in Ferguson, Mo.
Rev. Johnson is a Kansas City native and was deeply involved in the efforts to bring justice to the Ferguson community in the aftermath of the police shooting that caused the death of Michael Brown.
The public is invited.
