LINC Commissioner SuEllen Fried has been selected by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for a women's leadership award.

Fried received the 2013 ATHENA Leadership Awards are granted to women who have displayed exemplary leadership across professional sectors, given their time and talent to the community, and who actively assist women in their attainment of professional excellence.

Fried was recognized for work as founder of BullySafe USA and her tireless work on women's and child abuse and neglect issues.
 

Fried provided some of the early ideas that served as the foundation for LINC which was established in 1992.

Susan Leonard received the 2013 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award. She is the middle school principal at Pembroke Hill School.
