LINC Commissioner Anita Gorman recently received the first Smile Maker community achievement award from Miles of Smile portable dental clinic that serves Clay and Platte counties.

The award was presented in April at an event raising funds for the Northland non-profit.

The Miles of Smiles Inc. Portable Dental Program began in 2002 and has treated over 12,000 children.

The dental program consists of two dentists and four dental assistants who provide treatment on-site, in schools, and at other social service organizations.

Gorman is major civic leader and supports a wide range of interests.
