Calvin Wainright, LINC Site Coordinator at Santa Fe Trail and Luff elementary schools, is the Independence School District Classified Employee of the Year. 

Wainright received the award for his contributions to the families and community members of the Independence School District. 

"I believe today marks an important milestone for the efforts that have been made to foster the wonderful relationship that the Independence School District has with the Local Investment Commission," said Santa Fe Trail Elementary principal Janet Gibbs.

LINC began working with in the Independence School District in 1994 when four schools were selected as Caring Communities sites. Today there are 25 LINC Caring Communities sites in the district.

The Local Investment Commission congratulates Wainright for this honor and looks forward to more great things happening in Independence.
