National organizations are partnering to prevent child fatality due to vehicular heatstroke

The Administration for Children and Families, the U.S. Department of Education, the Office of Child Care, and Head Start are working to decrease the rate of child fatality due to vehicular heatstroke, in 2014 at least 17 children died of heatstroke.

In either extreme heat or cold, leaving a child alone in a vehicle is hazardous to their safety. A vehicle which will not protect them from the elements could subject the child to injury and, in some cases, death.
