Housing complex hosts LINC summer literacy camp

Stonegate Meadows Housing Complex could be the place where your child reads the most this summer.

LINC is offering a reading-intensive summer camp directed by Kindel Turner Nash, assistant professor at University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The camp is designed to keep kids (K-6) reading this summer in addition to participating in fun crafts children may not have access to during the school year. Activities include drama, creative writing, swimming, gardening and scouts. Field trips to the Plaza Library and picnics in Coleman Park are also included.

LINC Caring Communities Summer Camp is now enrolling for 2013.

Camp runs from June 3 to July 12 at Stonegate Meadows Housing Complex from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided to students.

Download the schedule or call Sheila Marshall, LINC Caring Communities site coordinator, at 816-418-4554 for more information.
