Eight families graduated from the Teen Families and Schools Together (F.A.S.T.) program at Van Horn High School on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.

Graduation followed on the eight-week F.A.S.T. program (Families and Schools Together) in which teens and parents worked together to complete projects and enjoy dinners together.  

F.A.S.T. is a national non-profit organization that promotes safe environments around kids. 

At the high school level, Teen F.A.S.T. allows students and parents to meet other families at the school.

"The social aspect is probably one of the big rewards," said Lindsay Browne, LINC site coordinator at Van Horn High School. "Building social connections with parents and kids meeting other families allows kids to feel more comfortable at school."
